Friday 13 December. Off to KL on MH0003
I only booked my flight a week beforehand. I'd delayed everything until the election was over and thought I'd left it too late with the fares completely against me. Then I saw a bargain for Friday 13th and snapped it up. So, here I was, leaving the house soon after 07.00, somewhat jaded after the reduced sleep of election night.
The trip to Heathrow (bus/overground/tube) was straightforward and soon I was enjoying the hospitality of Malaysia Airlines lounge at Terminal 4. The flight was on time, leaving at 10.30 - or 18.30 Malaysia time. I decided to try and live according to the new time zone and so the 'lunch' served up soon after we left became - to me - an evening meal. It was a very pleasant snapper, preceded by chestnut soup.
With my appalling night's sleep after the election, I was feeling tired and fought off the urge to sleep until 22.30 (new time) before succumbing and flattening my seat.
All in all, a smooth departure day.
